Privacy policy.
Last updated: 30 October 2026
This policy explains what information Match Point collects when you use this website or play in our tournaments, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Match Point is a pickleball tournament series in Mumbai organised by Aarav Jain and Shlok Daga ("we", "us").
What we collect when you register
- Your name, mobile number and email address.
- Your partner's name and mobile number (and email, if the tournament asks for it).
- DUPR ID and DUPR rating, because our tournaments use DUPR for eligibility and results.
- Other details a tournament asks for, such as gender, date of birth, school or club, T-shirt size or an emergency contact. The registration form shows exactly what is needed.
- Anything you write in the notes box.
What we collect when you pay
- The amount, and the UPI transaction ID (UTR) you give us so we can match your payment.
- Optionally, the name and UPI ID the payment came from, and a screenshot.
- We never ask for card numbers, bank passwords, OTPs or UPI PINs. Payments happen inside your own UPI app, and we only see what appears in our account statement.
Find a partner listings
- If you add yourself to a "Find a partner" list, your first name, rating, note and the contact detail you choose to show (for example your Instagram handle) are visible to anyone who visits the page. You can remove your listing at any time with the link you receive, and listings are removed when registration closes.
Technical information
- We record IP addresses briefly to stop spam and misuse.
- We use one cookie, only for organisers signing in to the dashboard. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- If you tick "Remember my details" when registering, your details are saved only in the browser on your own device, so the form is filled in next time. You can clear them from the registration page.
Photos and videos
- We take photos and videos at our events and may publish them on this website and on Instagram (@play.matchpoint). If you would like a photo of you removed, tell us and we will remove it.
How we use your information
- To run the tournament: checking eligibility, making the draw and schedule, and contacting you about your entry.
- To verify payments and keep accurate records.
- To submit match results to DUPR for DUPR-rated tournaments.
- To tell you about future Match Point tournaments, only if you have played with us or joined our WhatsApp group. You can ask us to stop at any time.
What is shown publicly
- Confirmed players' names and their category, results, and event photos.
- Find a partner listings, as described above.
- We never publish phone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth or payment details, unless you choose to show a contact detail on a Find a partner listing.
Who we share it with
- DUPR: for DUPR-rated tournaments, players' names, DUPR IDs and match scores are sent to DUPR so results count toward ratings. DUPR's own privacy policy applies to that information.
- Hosting: our website, database and photos are hosted by Railway, a cloud provider whose servers may be outside India. They store the information for us and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Alerts to organisers: when a payment is submitted, the organisers get a notification on their phones (through their browser or WhatsApp). These alerts contain only the registration reference, the amount and the transaction ID.
- We do not sell your information and we do not share it with sponsors or partners.
Players under 18
- Many of our players are under 18. If you register someone under 18, you confirm that you are their parent or guardian, or that a parent or guardian has agreed to the registration and to this policy.
- A parent or guardian can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete a child's information, or to remove their photos.
How long we keep it
- We keep registration and payment records after each tournament for our accounts.
- Once we no longer need them, we remove contact details (phone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth and emergency contacts) and keep only names, results, amounts and transaction IDs.
How we protect it
- The website uses an encrypted connection. Only the organisers can sign in to the dashboard, passwords are stored in scrambled (hashed) form, and every change is recorded in an activity log.
Your rights
- You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it.
- You can withdraw your consent, for example to photos or messages about future events.
- Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can also nominate someone to exercise these rights for you, and raise a complaint with us. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
- We will reply as soon as we can, and within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
- If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Big changes will also be announced on our Instagram.
