Questions
Frequently asked.
Everything players usually ask before a Match Point tournament.
Registering
Will I get a confirmation, and where?+
Straight after registering you'll see your reference (it starts with MP-) and a private link to your registration page. Save that link, or use "My registration" with your reference and mobile number at any time.
Once we've verified your payment, your registration page changes to "Confirmed".
Paying
How much is the entry fee?+
For Season 2 it's ₹1,800 per team, paid once by whoever registers the team. The fee for every tournament is shown on its page.
DUPR and eligibility
What is DUPR?+
DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) is the global rating system for pickleball. Every player gets a rating, usually between 2.000 and 8.000, based on the scores of their recorded matches. Signing up is free.
Do I need a DUPR rating to play?+
No. You can play even if you don't have a DUPR rating yet. Because Season 2 is DUPR-rated, each player needs a free DUPR account and their DUPR ID; if you don't have a rating, tick "No rating yet" on the registration form.
How do I create a DUPR account and find my DUPR ID?+
- Download the DUPR app (iPhone or Android), or go to dupr.com, and sign up for free.
- Your DUPR ID and your singles and doubles ratings are shown on your profile.
What does "DUPR-rated tournament" mean?+
Every match result is submitted to DUPR, so your games count towards your rating. That's why each player needs a DUPR account and must enter their DUPR ID and current rating when registering.
What does "DUPR 4.2 and below" mean? Does it apply to both players?+
Yes, it applies to each player. Both players' own ratings must be 4.2 or lower; it isn't an average of the team. Players without a rating yet can also play.
For example, a 4.0 player and a 3.6 player can enter together, but a 4.4 player can't, even with a lower-rated partner.
Which rating counts: singles or doubles?+
Your doubles rating, because Season 2 is a doubles tournament.
Is there an age limit?+
No. Season 2 is open to all ages.
Can beginners play?+
Yes. Players without a DUPR rating can play, and anyone rated 4.2 or below can enter. Matches are competitive, so it helps to know the basic rules and scoring before you come.
